The foundation arm of Vivain's Study
Vivain's Study EduFoundation (VSEF) is the foundation arm of Vivain's Study. Its work runs along two separate remits: open science communication, which shares the skills behind research and shows how studies are done, and open education, which makes learning available to anyone ready to take it up.
The aim is simple. More people should be able to learn, to understand research, to question it, and to take part in it.
Open science is not only about what was found. It is about how freely others can see, learn from, and use the work. Three commitments shape how VSEF communicates research.
Research is a skill anyone can learn.
Knowing how to ask a question, design a study, and read evidence should not be limited to people inside a lab or a university. VSEF teaches these skills openly, so more people can take part in research and not only receive its results.
From framing a question to interpreting results, each step is explained.
Methods and ideas are taught without assuming a specialist background.
Skills grow through practice on real questions, not through theory alone.
The method deserves as much attention as the result.
A finding is only as trustworthy as the way it was reached. Showing how a study was designed, what choices were made, and where its limits lie lets others judge the work, reproduce it, and improve on it.
Design, tools, and decisions are explained alongside the findings.
What a study can and cannot say is part of the story.
Clear methods let other people check, repeat, and extend the research.
Knowledge belongs to the people it affects.
Research kept behind paywalls or dense jargon reaches only a few. Open science communication puts findings in plain language and in open spaces, so students, practitioners, and communities can understand them and put them to use.
Ideas are explained clearly enough for any curious reader to follow.
Knowledge is shared so that others can build on it and challenge it.
Research should be useful to people outside universities as well.
A separate remit with its own purpose: making learning itself easier to reach, use, and share.
Learning should not depend on where you start.
Open education treats learning as something people should be able to reach regardless of where they live, what they can pay, or which institution they belong to. Teaching is stronger when the people who learn from it can use it, adapt it, and help improve it.
Good learning should be reachable by anyone ready to take it up.
Curricula and resources should be open to reuse, translation, and improvement.
Methods are explained, not hidden, so others can teach with them too.
